KRK’s “ROKIT G4” is a series of monitor speakers that differ in woofer size. In this article we compare the ROKIT 5 G4 and ROKIT 7 G4. Both are sold one at a time. In this article we compare the 2 models using only the specifications the manufacturer publishes, and rank them on the same criteria as the other 13 monitor speakers on this site.

In short: which one to choose
- ROKIT 5 G4 (rank B): a monitor speaker with a 5-inch woofer (sold individually). Strong on adjusting to the room.
- ROKIT 7 G4 (rank B): a monitor speaker with a 7-inch woofer (sold individually). Strong on room for low frequencies and adjusting to the room.
The highest score among the 2 models is ROKIT 5 G4 (rank B, average 3.3). But the model you need depends on how many things you record at once and which features you use. You do not need to choose a higher model for inputs, outputs or features you will not use.
Main features of the KRK ROKIT G4 series
A graphic EQ with an LCD, run by DSP
While looking at the LCD on the back, you can choose from 25 settings of a graphic EQ run by DSP (digital processing) to adjust the sound to the room’s acoustics. This is a feature of KRK’s 4th generation (G4), introduced in 2019.
Adjust placement with a smartphone app
With KRK’s app (Android and iPhone), you can adjust the placement of the speakers, the left-right balance and the subwoofer level while analyzing the sound in real time.
Kevlar drivers and a limiter
The same Kevlar material is used for the woofer and tweeter so that they sound with the same texture at different pitches. A limiter that works automatically as you approach maximum output protects the speaker. A high-density foam pad that is hard to transmit vibration is also included.
The difference between ROKIT 5 and ROKIT 7
The ROKIT 5 G4 has a 5-inch woofer and 55 W of power, and the ROKIT 7 G4 has a 7-inch woofer and 145 W. Both have XLR / TRS combo inputs and are sold one at a time. KRK’s direct-sales page shows them as out of stock, and the new ROKIT Generation Five has also come out (as of September 27, 2026).
Where it is useful
- Shaping the sound with the EQ in a room without enough sound absorption
- Deciding how to place the speakers while looking at your smartphone
- Checking music with a lot of bass on the speakers (ROKIT 7)

How we score (Monitor speakers)
| Criterion | Basis | 5 pt | 4 pt | 3 pt | 2 pt | 1 pt |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Room for low frequencies | Woofer size | ≥8 | ≥6.5 | ≥5 | ≥4 | <4 |
| Adjusting to the room | High and low frequency controls, DSP or app adjustment | All 3 | 2 | 1 | — | None |
| Ease of connecting | Types of input and output jacks | 5 to 7 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 or fewer |
| Ease of placement | Width (one speaker) | ≤140 | ≤160 | ≤190 | ≤220 | >220 |
Scored only on the body specifications published by the manufacturer. Price is not part of the score. Manufacturers measure low-frequency response under different conditions (-3 dB, -6 dB, -10 dB and so on), so it is hard to compare side by side. The score therefore uses the size of the woofer (the speaker for low sounds), and the published low-frequency limit is shown in the table together with its condition. Amplifier power is also written differently (rated, RMS and so on), so treat it as a rough guide; it is shown in the table for reference and is not part of the score. Ease of placement is decided by width, with a desktop in mind.
