What is the Evolve series?

Evolve is a series of synths based on Excite Audio’s samples. Each title collects sounds themed on a material such as “metal”, “dark matter”, “rubber” or “air” (per the manufacturer).

Differences between the editions

• Evolve Alloy: metallic sounds. More than 250 sound sources (125 in the Lite version) (per the manufacturer).
• Evolve Dark Matter: low sustained sounds and heavy textures (a Lite version is also available).
• Evolve Elastic Lite: sounds that stretch like rubber, such as acid-style bass (125 sound sources) (per the manufacturer).
• Evolve Air: breathy sounds, wind instruments and airy textures.
• Evolve Nest Acoustics: made together with the sound designer Nest Acoustics. Sounds that combine nature and field recordings with analog synths (per the manufacturer).
• Evolve Bundle: a bundle of the series.

Features

Sample-based synths whose character is set by the material

The Evolve series is a set of sample-based synths built around the sounds of various materials. The sale covers titles such as “Evolve Alloy”, built around metal sounds, and “Evolve Dark Matter”, built around heavy, dark-matter-like sounds (per the manufacturer).

Evolve Alloy: more than 250 sources in four layers

It holds more than 250 sound sources, from bright glockenspiels and bells to industrial foley and metallic synths. Four layers are mixed on an XY pad, and four macro effects, Sharpen, Rust, Vibrate and Spring, shape the sound (per the manufacturer).

Import your own samples, and modulation

You can import your own samples and make completely personal patches. Envelopes, LFOs and XY controls can be assigned by drag and drop. There is also a dual filter and a three-slot FX chain whose order can be changed (per the manufacturer).

250 presets

It includes 250 presets and a one-click random generator. The manufacturer says it was made with uses such as ambient, minimal, industrial techno and hyperpop in mind.

Evolve Dark Matter: heavy, dark sounds

A sample-based synth built around dark sounds such as resonating sub drones, rumbling low textures and eerie soundscapes (per the manufacturer).
