An introduction to Krotos Krotos Studio MAX, based on information from the maker and distributors: what it does, how to use it and who it may suit. It is not scored.
What is Krotos Studio MAX?
Krotos Studio MAX is the subscription bundle of Krotos' sound-design tools. An annual license gives access to everything in the purchase-based Krotos Everything Bundle 6.
According to the Japanese distributor Media Integration, the bundle includes Reformer Pro, Weaponiser Fully Loaded, Dehumaniser 2, Igniter Full Tank, Simple Monsters and Krotos Studio Pro.
Its library holds about 65,000 WAV files, 246 GB and 2,977 presets, larger than Everything Bundle 6 (61,000 files, 218 GB). New content is added every month on the subscription.
It also adds importing your own sounds and the AI feature Video to Sound, which adds sound automatically to videos up to 30 minutes. It could suit people who want sound design for picture in one package.
Krotos Studio Pro
A tool for building effects across monsters, animals, weapons, textures, vehicles, Foley and synthesis. The maker positions it as a way to speed up production.
Dehumaniser 2
Turns a voice into complex vocal effects such as creature voices. It may be useful for game and film creature sounds.
Reformer Pro
Generates Foley sounds from your own performance, which may suit people who want to act out effects with a microphone.
Weaponiser Fully Loaded
A dedicated tool for building weapon sounds, relevant when you need gunshots or explosions for games or film.
Igniter Full Tank
A tool for creating vehicle sounds, which may be used for engine sounds in video and game work.
Video to Sound (AI)
AI that adds sound effects automatically to videos up to 30 minutes. It is added only in the subscription Studio MAX.
Importing your own sounds
You can import your own recordings to build custom effects. This is not in Everything Bundle 6 and is added in Studio MAX.
