What is Voicemeeter Banana?

Voicemeeter Banana is a virtual audio mixer for Windows from VB-Audio. It lets you combine multiple audio sources, such as a mic and applications, adjust them on one screen and route them to outputs.

It has 5 inputs and 5 outputs, each with 3 physical and 2 virtual devices, and 5 buses: A1, A2, A3, B1 and B2.

Input strips offer EQ, compressor, gate, limiter and panning, and the buses include a full parametric EQ among other tools.

It also includes a tape deck for recording and playback and VBAN for sending audio over a network. It is donationware, and the main functions are free to use.

5 inputs and 5 outputs

Each has 3 physical and 2 virtual devices, which may help combine a mic, game audio and music.

Five buses

Buses A1, A2, A3, B1 and B2. A1 is the main output and sets the engine's sample rate, from 32 kHz to 192 kHz.

Strip processing

EQ, chorus-like modulation, 3D panning, compressor, gate, limiter and mute/solo. They may be worth trying for evening out voice levels in streams.

Bus processing

A limiter, 5.1/7.1-to-stereo mixdown and a master full parametric EQ with 6 cells per channel.

Tape Deck

Records and plays audio files such as WAV, MP3 and MP4, possibly useful for quick recordings.

VBAN

Sends 8 audio inputs, 8 audio outputs, MIDI and text streams over a network, an option for linking several PCs.

Virtual ASIO

Two virtual ASIO I/Os with 8 channels each and one virtual insert ASIO I/O with 22 channels.
