What is OD303?
The OD303 is Austrian Audio's dynamic vocal microphone for live use, aimed at rehearsal rooms, small stages and frequent gigs.
It has a supercardioid pattern, favoring sound from the front and picking up less from the sides and rear. That may help with placement on stage near monitors.
The housing is die-cast and described as built for daily use and touring. A 3D Pop Noise Diffuser in front of the capsule is there to reduce plosives.
The maker describes a modern voicing with high output, and it is positioned as an accessible entry in the range.
Supercardioid pattern
A narrower frontal pickup. It may make positioning easier when you want to reduce other instruments or monitor bleed.
3D Pop Noise Diffuser
A structure ahead of the capsule that reduces plosives, giving built-in basic protection before adding a separate pop filter.
Die-cast housing
A sturdy metal housing described as fitting well in the hand, which may suit vocalists who carry their mic often.
High output
Sensitivity is 1.8 mV/Pa, a value that may leave more gain headroom on the mixer input.
35 Hz to 16 kHz response
The response covers the range typically used for vocals. Impedance is 1200 ohms (balanced) with a load impedance of over 1 kohm.
Optional accessories
The OCP8 pop filter, MZP3 mic pouch and OCH1 mic clip are sold separately and can be added as needed.
