An introduction to EVE Audio SC2070, based on information from the maker and distributors: what it does, how to use it and who it may suit. It is not scored.
The SC2070 combines the eminent technologies of the SC3070 and the TEC Award-winning SC4070 in a compact 2-way system.

What is SC2070?
The SC2070 is a two-way active midfield studio monitor from EVE Audio of Berlin. The maker says it combines technologies from the three-way SC3070 and SC4070 in a compact two-way system.
The tweeter is the newly developed Air Motion Transformer RS7, a ribbon-type unit with a folded diaphragm, crossing over at 1800 Hz, which is low for a two-way design. The maker says its diaphragm area is 1.5 times that of the SC207's tweeter.
A 6.5-inch SilverCone woofer with a honeycomb cone handles the lows. Total amplification is 250 W (100 W tweeter, 150 W woofer). Frequency range is 38 Hz to 25 kHz and maximum SPL per pair is 106 dB.
The front SMART-knob adjusts volume and filters and can lock settings. The input level can be set between 7 dBu and 22 dBu to make best use of the A/D converter.
New AMT RS7 tweeter
An Air Motion Transformer passes the signal current through a folded diaphragm to move air. The maker says the RS7 is the largest AMT used in a two-way monitor, which may interest those wanting to check high and upper-mid detail.
Low 1800 Hz crossover
Handover between tweeter and woofer sits at 1800 Hz. The maker says this aims at midrange imaging comparable to three-way systems.
6.5-inch SilverCone woofer
It has a copper-cap magnet system, a 1.5-inch voice coil and a light, stiff honeycomb cone, driven by two Class-D amplifiers for 250 W in total.
SMART-knob settings
The front knob adjusts volume and high-shelf (above 3 kHz), mid (1 kHz bell), desk (around 160 Hz) and low-shelf (below 300 Hz) filters in 0.5 dB steps, which may help compensate for desk or wall placement.
Parameter lock and safe fade-in
A parameter lock protects settings even when power is off, and a slow volume fade-in at power-on protects ears and equipment.
Input level and DSP
The maximum input level can be set from 7 dBu to 22 dBu to suit the A/D converter. The DSP serves the monitor's adjustments, all operable from the unit itself.
