What is CONNECT 6?

The LEWITT CONNECT 6 is a USB-C audio interface for streamers, podcasters and musicians. The maker calls it a dual USB-C interface because it can connect a computer and a phone or tablet at the same time.

It has two XLR/6.3 mm combo mic inputs, two 6.3 mm instrument inputs and one stereo 3.5 mm aux input. The mic preamps offer 72 dB of gain and -133 dBV EIN according to the maker.

Built-in DSP and mixing are the other pillars. A 4-band EQ, compressor, expander, Maximizer and Ducker run at zero latency, and the CONTROL CENTER software handles routing, mixing and loopback.

Autosetup configures settings for your recording environment, and two independent master mixes (MIX A and MIX B) and two independent headphone outputs are provided. It supports Windows, Mac, iOS and Android and includes Cubase LE and Cubasis LE licences.

The CONNECT 6 uses separate USB-C ports for a computer and a mobile device. Retailer specifications list two independent headphone outputs, one on a 6.35 mm jack and one on a 3.5 mm mini jack, so two people can monitor even when their headphone plugs differ.

The mixer section offers three virtual stereo channels and one loopback channel, with a 2-in/2-out recording and playback layout. Each of the two master mixes is listed with its own one-knob Maximizer.

Two 72 dB mic preamps

Two XLR/6.3 mm combo inputs with -6 to 72 dB gain and -133 dBV EIN (A-weighted). 48 V phantom power supports condenser mics.

Autosetup

Automatically configures settings for your recording environment, for voice, vocals and instruments, to get started quickly.

Zero-latency DSP effects

A 4-band EQ, compressor, expander, Maximizer and Ducker are built in, shaping sound at the input stage without relying on the DAW.

CONTROL CENTER and loopback

Dedicated software sets routing, mixing and loopback. Two independent mixes (MIX A and MIX B) allow separate stream and monitor mixes.

Computer and mobile at once

Separate USB-C ports for computer and mobile; the mobile port is MFi certified and charges the connected device.

Two headphone outputs

Two independent headphone outputs, each with its own mix, useful when two people record.

Inputs and connectivity

Two mic, two instrument and one stereo aux input plus two balanced 6.3 mm speaker outputs. Sample rates are 44.1/48/96 kHz (computer) and 44.1/48 kHz (mobile).

One-knob Maximizer on each master mix

Each of MIX A and MIX B has a one-knob Maximizer. You could level the stream mix while keeping a different setting on your own monitor mix.

Virtual channels and loopback

The software side provides three virtual stereo channels and one loopback channel, which makes it easier to route browser or call audio into a stream mix.

Two headphone jack types

The two independent headphone outputs are one 6.35 mm and one 3.5 mm jack, so a mini-plug headset could be plugged in directly.

Bus-powered, compact I/O

It runs on USB 2.0 Type-C bus power and has no S/PDIF, ADAT or MIDI. The focused I/O suits setups that stay on the desk.
