What is M-Track Solo?

M-Track Solo is a 2-channel USB audio interface from M-Audio. It has one Crystal preamp and records microphones, guitars and line-level gear on Mac, PC and iOS devices.

A combo input accepts XLR microphones or line signals, and +48V phantom power supports condenser microphones. A dedicated instrument input takes guitars and basses directly, and a stereo line input is also provided.

The sound being recorded can be monitored with zero latency through the RCA outputs and a 1/8-inch headphone jack. A USB/Direct switch balances input monitoring against computer playback.

No external power supply is needed, as it runs on USB bus power. Music software such as MPC Beats and plugins are bundled, making it easy to start recording after purchase.

Crystal preamp

The mic input is specified with 0 to +54 dB gain and -128 dBu equivalent input noise, and may serve as an entry point for vocal and instrument recording.

Phantom power

+48V phantom power is provided for condenser microphones.

Instrument and line inputs

A dedicated instrument input (1 M ohm), a switchable line/instrument input and a stereo line input are provided.

Zero-latency monitoring

Input sound is heard without delay via the RCA outputs and headphone jack. The headphone output gives 60 mW per channel into 32 ohms.

USB/Direct switch

This balances input monitoring against computer playback, which may help with overdubbing.

Bus-powered

It draws power from USB with no external supply, making it easy to carry.

Bundled software

MPC Beats, 80 AIR effects, the AIR TubeSynth, Electric and Bassline instruments and the Revalver guitar amp plugin are included.
