Ultimate FET studio microphone.
— LEWITT official site
What is LCT 640 TS?
The LEWITT LCT 640 TS is a 1-inch FET studio condenser microphone. The official page positions it for studio vocals, stereo overheads and similar sources.
Its key feature is Dual Output Mode, which records the front and back of the capsule on separate channels. The included POLARIZER plugin lets you change the polar pattern after recording.
In Multi-Pattern Mode you can choose omni, wide cardioid, cardioid, supercardioid and figure-8. It also has a switchable pad (up to -18 dB) and a switchable low-cut filter.
It has a 3-pin XLR and a mini 3-pin XLR connector. Any two units can be used as a matched pair for stereo recording.
Dual output mode sends the front and back of the capsule to two channels at once; because both come from one capsule, they stay in phase, and POLARIZER can create any polar pattern after recording. Stated uses include single-mic stereo, blending room and direct sound, solo vocals, wide rooms and choirs.
POLARIZER runs on Windows 10 or newer (64-bit, VST3 and AAX) and macOS 10.15 or newer (VST3, AAX, AudioUnit v2, Intel and Apple Silicon). Pro Tools needs 12.5 or newer on Windows and 2019.12 or newer on macOS.
Dual Output Mode
It records the front and back of the capsule on separate channels, so any pattern can be created after recording. It may help when retakes are hard.
Included POLARIZER plugin
A bundled plugin for changing the polar pattern after recording.
Multi-Pattern Mode
Five patterns: omni, wide cardioid, cardioid, supercardioid and figure-8.
Pad and low-cut
A pad (up to -18 dB) and a switchable low-cut. They may help with loud sources and low-frequency rumble.
Stereo and matched pairs
Two units can be used together for stereo recording.
FET circuit and 1-inch diaphragm
The official page calls it a multi-pattern condenser with a warm, balanced sound.
Pad and low-cut values
Pad: 0, -6, -12 and -18 dB. Low-cut: linear, 40 Hz (12 dB/oct), 80 Hz (12 dB/oct), 160 Hz (6 dB/oct).
Two XLR outputs
A 3-pin XLR and mini 3-pin XLR; the included TS adapter cable handles dual output.
Generous accessories
Shock mount, magnetic pop filter, foam windscreen, TS adapter cable, transport bag and case.
Free sample pack
LEWITT links a free sample pack that demonstrates changing patterns after recording.
