What is Prophet~5?
Prophet~5 is a software instrument that GForce Software made in cooperation with Sequential. The manufacturer describes it as “the first official Prophet~5 software instrument” (per the manufacturer).
Formats are standalone, AudioUnit, AAX, VST2 and VST3. On Mac, Intel and Apple Silicon are supported, with macOS 10.15 or later and 8 GB or more of memory as a guide (per the manufacturer). A 14-day trial is also available.

Features
Three characters: Rev1, Rev2 and Rev3
The SSM filters of Rev1 and Rev2, the Curtis filter of Rev3, and the envelope characteristics of each are reproduced (per the manufacturer).
New X-Modifiers
Most parameters can be given their own envelope and LFO. The manufacturer says this adds movement to the sound while keeping the feel of the original.
Two layers and effects
The two layers can be used stacked (Layer), split across the keyboard (Split) or played alternately (Alternate). Each layer has its own arpeggiator and chord mode. For effects there are two selectable slots (chorus, phaser, filter, distortion, tremolo and compressor), plus delay, reverb and pan spread (per the manufacturer).
Presets and expressiveness
More than 460 presets are included, among them 38 factory presets from 1978. It supports MPE, and MIDI CC assignment can be done in detail (per the manufacturer).
