What is Shake and Bake?
Shake and Bake is a shaker-only instrument from Basic Wavez. It layers up to four real shaker performances and automatically aligns the small timing differences that occur when they are stacked (per the manufacturer). For how it compares with similar products, see drum instruments compared.
Features
“Shaker Stack Engine”: stack shakers and align them with one click
With shakers, a few milliseconds of difference changes the impression of the groove. When several shakers are layered, differences in their peaks make the sound smear. The manufacturer says Shake and Bake fixes that with one click.
Layer up to four real shaker performances
You can load and layer up to four recordings of real performances: egg, maracas, cabasa, tube and more. It includes 117 shaker loops played by the percussionist Jeroen de Rijk (per the manufacturer).
Detects and aligns the rhythmic peaks automatically
It detects the rhythmic peaks of each layer and aligns them. Choose which lane is the lead and the rest follow it. Three modes, Smart, Grid and Feel, let you adjust the position against the grid in milliseconds (per the manufacturer).
Per-lane controls and built-in effects
Each lane has volume, pan and a filter, and there are a built-in reverb and delay, stereo width, and tempo-synced playback that follows the session. A finished shaker can be dragged into the timeline (per the manufacturer).
