What is SSL Greatest Hits Bundle?
It is a bundle of three effects from Solid State Logic (SSL): the channel strip Channel Strip 2, the three-band bus compressor G3 MultiBusComp and the reverb FlexVerb (per the manufacturer).
Requirements: on Mac, macOS 11 to 13 (64-bit only, M1 Macs supported) in AU, VST2, VST3 and AAX Native formats; on Windows, Windows 10 to 11 (64-bit only) in VST2, VST3 and AAX Native formats. A free iLok account is required for authorization (per the manufacturer, from the Plugin Boutique product page).
Features
Channel Strip 2
Modeled on the channel strip of an SSL 9000K console. It has a 4-band parametric EQ (switchable between E-Series and G-Series character), variable high-pass and low-pass filters, a compressor, a gate/expander and sidechains, and the order of the processors can be changed (per the manufacturer).
G3 MultiBusComp
SSL-style “glue” compression across three frequency bands, with per-band external sidechains and “4K” drive (which adds harmonics). The interface can be scaled from 50% to 200% (per the manufacturer).
FlexVerb
A reverb where early and late reflections are chosen separately. It has four algorithms (room, hall, plate and chamber), a 6-band EQ, high-pass and low-pass filters and an input sidechain compressor, plus switches for infinite reverb and for killing the tail (per the manufacturer).
