What is SubLab?
SubLab is a synth from Future Audio Workshop dedicated to low-end sub bass. It is made for building 808-style bass for hip-hop and trap, and it lets you load, layer, widen and distort kick samples in a single plug-in (per the manufacturer).
Differences between the editions
- SubLab: the standard edition.
- SubLab XL: the upgraded edition. It adds effects (which can be combined and reordered), LFO modulators, filters, EQ, a macro page and 10 new bass packs (per the manufacturer).
Features
A synth for building 808-style sub bass quickly
It is a new kind of synth made for hip-hop, future bass and trap. Future Audio Workshop says you can build powerful 808-style sub bass that translates on any speaker.
Process a kick with Sub, Layer, Wide and Distortion
You can load any kick as a sample and layer, widen or distort it to make an impactful sub. The company says it has also made the mixing steps simple.
X-Sub technology (a psychoacoustic sub oscillator)
This is a new oscillator that is said to give a consistent, accurate and deep sub whichever pitch you play. The company says it is available only in SubLab.
Samples and bass packs included
It comes with 250 samples recorded from high-end modular gear and classic analog drum machines, plus six signature bass packs. You can also load your own samples by drag and drop (per the manufacturer).
