What is H910 Harmonizer?
H910 Harmonizer is a plug-in that recreates an Eventide unit described as the world’s first digital effects processor. It combines pitch shifting, modulation and delay, and can be used for harmonies, thickening guitars, slapback delay on vocals and more (per the manufacturer).
It supports Windows 10 or later (AAX, VST2, VST3) and macOS 10.14 or later (AAX, AU, VST3; Apple Silicon supported). You need an iLok account, but no physical dongle (per the manufacturer).
Features
A recreation of the H910, a pioneer of digital effects processors
Eventide describes the H910 Harmonizer as the world’s first digital effects processor. It is known for its combination of pitch shifting, modulation and delay, and it has been used on many famous recordings. This plug-in is a faithful recreation of the original hardware (per the manufacturer).
Pitch changes: manual, MIDI and anti-feedback
You can change the pitch manually, by MIDI or with anti-feedback. Anti-feedback wobbles the pitch around the original pitch, from subtle effects to bold ones.
Make harmonies for vocals and solo instruments
You can move the pitch in musical intervals to make harmonies for vocals and solo instruments (per the manufacturer).
Distinctive sounds from delay and self-oscillation
With delay you can make everything from slapback echo to crystalline feedback chaos. Using self-oscillation you can also make drone-like (sustained) sound effects. The glitches (disturbances in the sound) of the original are also recreated.
New: keyboard/MIDI mapping and an envelope follower
The original’s idea of a keyboard-operated remote control is recreated with MIDI. An envelope follower has also been added, so the pitch can change with the loudness of the input (per the manufacturer).
Bonus: H910 Dual Harmonizer
With the purchase you also get “H910 Dual Harmonizer”, which recreates the technique of using two H910s in parallel (per the manufacturer). It can be used for rich doubling (an effect of layering a sound) and more.
