An introduction to Focal Professional Trio11 Be, based on information from the maker and distributors: what it does, how to use it and who it may suit. It is not scored.
Trio11 Be combines a 3-way and a 2-way monitor; its Focus Mode makes it easy to switch from one to the other.

What is Trio11 Be?
Trio11 Be is the largest 3-way active monitor in Focal's SM6 line. It has an 11-inch subwoofer, a 5-inch midrange and a 1-inch beryllium inverted-dome tweeter, and is intended for nearfield through midfield use.
Focus Mode switches between 3-way (30 Hz to 40 kHz) and 2-way (90 Hz to 20 kHz). The footswitch is sold separately. It lets you check how a mix behaves on systems with limited bass without swapping speakers.
It carries 300 W for the bass, 150 W for the midrange and 100 W for the treble, and Focal lists the max SPL as 118 dB (peak at 1 m). The class G amplifiers are described as aiming for both headroom and resolution.
The rear panel has bass, midrange and treble level controls, and the baffle rotates for vertical or horizontal placement. The Japanese distributor's page also describes the cabinet made in Focal's French workshop and the wood-finished side panels. At 37.3 kg it needs a setup with plenty of room.
3-way / 2-way Focus Mode
3-way covers 30 Hz to 40 kHz and 2-way covers 90 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB). Switching to 2-way lets you check how a mix sounds where bass is limited.
11-inch W subwoofer
An 11-inch W sandwich-cone subwoofer handles the bass. It may be a candidate for productions that span a wide range, such as dance music or scoring.
Beryllium tweeter
A pure beryllium inverted dome. Focal says it covers more than five octaves, from 1,000 to 40,000 Hz.
High-power class G amplification
Built-in amplifiers of 300 W (bass), 150 W (mid, class G) and 100 W (treble, class AB), with 118 dB max SPL. The spec targets situations needing headroom in larger rooms.
TMD and optimized vents
TMD stabilizes the midrange suspension, and optimized vents with high excursion aim to improve bass linearity, according to Focal.
Rotating baffle and rear controls
The aluminum plate rotates in 90-degree steps for vertical or horizontal use. Bass, midrange and treble levels can be set on the rear panel.
