What is The Master Bus Collection?
The Master Bus Collection is a set of two Heritage Audio plug-ins for the master bus: the compressor “SUCCESSOR” for the whole mix, and the stereo bus EQ “SYMPH EQ” (per the manufacturer).
Licensing uses iLok, and the manufacturer’s page offers a 14-day demo (per the manufacturer).
Features
SUCCESSOR: a British diode-bridge compressor
It was originally made for the mix bus, but has come to be used in many situations such as tracking, subgroups and mastering, according to the manufacturer. It gives warm, colored, thick compression easily.
SYMPH EQ: Mid/Side mode you can really use
The manufacturer says that setting it up is easy and the results are good in stereo, Mid/Side or mono. Because the EQ curves are smooth and it uses a parallel EQ method, it has very little phase shift and few unnatural side effects.
Shape the depth and width of a mix with Mid/Side
Thickening the center makes the track more solid and the groove steadier. Lightening the sides increases stereo width and gives the mix room (per the manufacturer).
