What is GRRR?
GRRR is an effect from Thenatan Audio for making growl sounds. Because it moves in response to the sound of the song, it can turn bass, vocals and drums into aggressive sounds for bass music (per the manufacturer).
Features
A growl-making engine that detects the beat and moves with it
GRRR is built from four racks connected to a beat detector. The official page explains that it listens to the song and reacts in real time, so the sound moves in time with the beat. It can be used on anything, such as bass, vocals or drums.
Four engines: TRASH, TALK, WUB and SCREECH
TRASH is a distortion that adds wavefolding, decimation, ring modulation and more with one knob. TALK makes bass speak vowels. WUB is a filter that makes the classic resonant wobble. SCREECH is a metallic resonator that moves from low growls to high screams (per the manufacturer).
For dubstep, drill, trap and more
The official page explains that it suits dubstep, drill, new hip-hop, trap, EDM, riddim and similar styles.
More than 20 presets
It includes more than 20 ready-to-use presets, finished with a gate and limiter, such as basslines, vocal growls, drum destruction and riddim lasers (per the manufacturer).
Just drag the knobs
It is said to be usable by just moving the knobs, without a manual or sound-design knowledge. MASTER SUB adds thickness to the low end, and DENSE adds loudness (density).
